Finding the Best Orthodontist

Beautifully shaped teeth in proper alignment are highly desirable, and everyone wants to show off beautiful teeth in that glistening smile.

Beautifully shaped teeth in proper alignment are highly desirable, and everyone wants to show off beautiful teeth in that glistening smile. Your teeth may flare out, with many spaces in between. This leads to either crowding or arrested eruption of many teeth. On the other hand the jaws may be too broad and teeth either smaller, that many spaces are seen in between the teeth. Many times there may be severe developmental anomalies in the jaws and teeth, that the entire dental facial structure is disfigured. An orthodontist specializes in teeth alignment and facial orthopedics.

The treatment can be initiated in the early years of life and can modify the facial growth pattern. By doing this space is created beforehand for the teeth that are going to erupt so that later no malocclusion develops. Sometimes teeth that may hamper the eruption of others are removed. Orthodontic appliances, wires, and braces are put on teeth to apply mild forces that pull the teeth into the desired position. The wires are tightened on a regular basis until the teeth come into place.

The teeth may move back into their original form and there may be failure of the entire process if the retainers are not worn. Thus, the orthodontist gives a retainer that must either be worn full time or at night to stabilize the new position that the teeth have acquired.

You can visit your nearest orthodontist for a consultation and talk about dental deformities, malocclusion, and orthodontic treatment. A diagnostic workup is done to assess the careen situation and possible treatments that can be performed.
